沉睡谷第二季

FOX热播剧《沉睡谷》(Sleepy Hollow)第一季的结尾，几位主人公纷纷遇险，留给观众无限悬念。妮可儿·贝海尔(Nicole Beharie)饰演的艾比被困炼狱，汤姆·梅森(Tom Mison)出演的伊卡博德被活埋，奥兰多·琼斯(Orlando Jones)扮演的欧文锒铛入狱，琳迪·格林伍德((Lyndie Greenwood)出演的珍妮发生严重车祸，凶多吉少。这样的安排，连主演梅森都大呼意外：“这样一个烂摊子，我们要如何收拾?”

Alone in the dark, Ichabod whispers a plea for a response from anyone.

Then Abbie flicks on the lights to reveal a cupcake with a candle in it, her very of a surprise party for his 251st birthday. He is unnerved. "Why must your era celebrate terror with dessert?" he queries.

He reluctantly makes a wish and blows out the candle.

It's been almost a year (since the finale), and Ichabod wants revenge. "We both lost someone we loved, let us leave it at that," he says.

"I don't think I would have made it without you," she says.

Abbie gets a call from the sheriff's department and they go to meet the attending professor at the historical society.

When they arrive, they find a security guard out front without a head. The Horseman is back. They return to the car and arm up then head inside.

They find the professor's headless body by papers on Benjamin Franklin. Crane was his apprentice and found him to be a blowhard.

Crane notices the bonsai tree on the desk sprouting rots, but continues onward finding the papers hidden in the desk.

They're interrupted by the Horseman firing on them. Abbie fires consecrated rounds at him and Crane hits him with his crossbow, but he lobs a grenade and forces them into cover. The Horseman gets away. Crane is ready to go after him -- payback for the Horseman killing his wife and Abbie's sister. But she reminds him they're low on ammo and urges him to figure out what the Horseman was after.

They go through the professor's papers back at the archives and find a note about a charcoal key rubbing in the archives at Harvard. Crane recognizes the key.

He tells Abbie about Benjamin Franklin returning from England and claiming to have infiltrated the Hellfire club, a group against America.

Flashback to Crane joining Franklin, who is having an "air bath" (naked) while he preps for his famous key on a kite to find electricity test. Later that day, flying his kite in the pouring rain, Franklin waits for the key to be struck by lightning.

Franklin wasn't trying to find electricity, he was trying to destroy the key.

The professor's notes call it the Ghenna key, also known as Purgatory. The key can release souls trapped in purgatory, which means Moloch could use it. "If he discovers this key, everything we've sacrificed will be for naught," Crane says.

Later, after running down every lead, they have nowhere else to turn but to Crane's son Henry, the Horseman of War. They know he might lie and manipulate and lie to them, but are willing to risk it. They're keeping him locked in the dungeon. They bribe him to cooperate with a plant.

Henry scans the files with his sin-eating powers, but announces there's nothing on the key in them. He asks if the late Sheriff Corbin's files might have anything on the key, and suggests he read Abbie to find out.

Crane and Abbie confer in the observation room next door. She tells Crane that she remembers Corbin had Jenny go to Philadelphia to get one of the Franklin's sketch books, but she doesn't know where it is.

All of a sudden, an eerie feeling washes over Crane and he can't remember any details of the past year. Neither can Abbie. They don't remember how they captured Henry.

Meanwhile, Henry rises up from his chair and easily breaks free of his chains, announcing that Moloch brought them to him for one final mission -- to locate the key, and now he knows where it is, with Jenny.

The room falls apart around them. Henry announces that Abbie will remain in Purgatory and Ichabod will stay buried in the coffin where Henry left him. As they're pulled apart Abbie yells at Crane that he has to get out of the box and she'll try to stop Moloch from her side.

Meanwhile, Henry drags Jenny into an empty warehouse and revives her with epinephrine. He brings up the sketch book and tells her her lies are pointless since he can see through them with his sin eating. He grab onto her head and sees flashes of her and the sketchbook.

He tells his lackey that Jenny's memory was in code and to keep her alive until he deciphers it.

Meanwhile, in the coffin, Ichabod gets no service on his phone, then notices the dirt seeping into the coffin tastes like sulfur.

Katrina is tied to a chair being held by the Horseman of Death, her former suitor Abraham. He cuts her loose then offers her bread. She takes a bite, then stabs him in the hand with his own knife. He grabs her quickly as she runs, then ties her back up and leaves.

Out in the dark and eerie forest of purgatory, Abbie is suddenly grabbed by her late colleague Andy Brooks (John Cho). She isn't inclined to trust him, but he tells her Moloch is preparing a demon army to bring with him to earth. She asks for his help figuring out how to get a message to Crane.

Meanwhile, in his coffin, Crane rigs rolled up fabric with gunpowder and stuffs it in the coffin's cracks. He lights it and covers up as the ground above him explodes. He crawls to freedom.

Walking back to Sleepy Hollow, he calls Jenny.

She takes advantage of her captor being distracted by her phone to head butt him and kick him to the ground. She breaks free of a zip tie and cuts off the other with a knife, which she then flings into her captor's chest.

She assesses her surroundings and texts Crane with her location. He's nearby.

In Purgatory, Andy leads Abbie to Moloch's lair, where a mirror reflects to the other side. "So like a demon hologram is basically what you're saying," she says.

Armed with the guard's gun, Jenny sneaks out of the warehouse. Crane is outside when he hears gunshots. He jumps in a parked ambulance and drives through the warehouse wall to Jenny.

Out on the road, he explains the importance of Franklin's sketchbook. She says it's at the archives.

They find it there and Crane quickly recognizes the code describing it as Franklin's own alphabet. It says the key is with the one person Franklin trusted -- himself. Benjamin Franklin isn't buried in Sleepy Hollow, but Abbie has an idea of where to look.

Back in Purgatory, with Moloch away from his lair, Abbie sneaks in to use his super creepy trans-world communication mirror, which is in a pentagram on the wall surrounded by candles. Abbie reads the chant and calls for Crane, who is transported to the lair.

She tells him about Moloch's demon army plan. He tells her he and Jenny are on the way to get the key themselves to get her out. She wonders if it's a trick, to get them to lead Moloch to the key. She tries to convince him protecting the key is more important than getting her out, but he won't hear it, saying there are two witnesses in the prophesy and they have to work together. She warns him to be ready for Moloch to try to come busting through.

They make plans to meet back at the church, where Abbie dropped Katrina's charm that protects against Moloch.

Back with Abbie at the statue of Franklin in town, they notices Henry's minions are already digging. Crane thinks Franklin would have had more layers in his code and remembers his saying that "the key to success lies under the alarm clock."

They turn around to see the clock tower behind them. Crane finds a brick with B.F. written on it. He chisels it out and finds the key behind it.

Back with the Horseman, he puts a necklace on her that Abraham gave her in life and she's able to see Abraham standing before her. She assures him she'll never believe he has any humanity left and only loves Ichabod, but Abraham tells her Ichabod will be dead by midnight.

At the church, Ichabod insists that Jenny stay behind in case anything happens to him. She reminds him not to eat or drink anything while in Purtagory.

He recites the incantation and crosses over.

In Purgatory, Abbie searches the forest floor for the amulet from Katrina. Crane finds her and helps her to her feet. He offers her a drink of water. Right before she takes a sip, the real Crane shows up and shouts at her to stop.

Abbie jumps on fake Crane but he knocks her down and goes after the real thing. Abbie watches the two Crane's fight from a blurry distance until Crane runs toward her with the key in his hand. They escape and Crane tells her it's time to return home. But he calls her "lieutenant," and pronounces it the American way. She notices and grabs a nearby sword (because it's Purgatory and of course there are swords sticking out of the ground). She takes off his head and the real Crane runs up calling her "lef-tenant."

They notice Moloch nearby and the demons starting to claw up out of the ground.

They run away reciting the incantation to summon the doorway. Crane uses the key and they both leap through.

On the other side, Moloch races toward the doorway but it closes before he can cross over. They key disintegrates in Crane's hand.

Back at his cabin, Crane and Abbie are preparing for the coming war.

Down in the catacombs, Henry talks to Moloch on the other side. Moloch opens up a doorway and a chain mail suit forged in fire walks through. Moloch reminds Henry he's the Horseman of War and he can use his soul to control the warrior to secure Moloch's place on earth.

Henry presents him with a sword, which the warrior wields as it bursts into flames.
